HENDERSON The HFU is a family newsletter that relates to the Henderson name and their extended families. The aim of this publication is to update our kin folks with as current and as accurate information as possible. The purpose of this periodical shall be to collect, preserve, and disseminate knowledge and information with reference to genealogical and related historical and biographical data. We solicit your comments and/or family information for our records. Some information may be published; however, editing or shortening for brevity may occur. Henderson Family Introduction
 Our Henderson roots are traced back to Mary Henderson also known as "The Widow Mary Henderson of 1790 US Census for Laurens, South Carolina." We really do not even know her husband's name for sure. But The Widow Mary's log cabin currently sets in Laurens County, S.C., and a family member owns the farm and has the documentation to prove her existence.
 There on a hill is the family Henderson cemetery that probably has most of the ancestors that we are looking for but there are no names on the stones except one; Elizabeth Brock Henderson. Mastin Lee Henderson's first wife and the mother of his children. Over the years, we have tried to identify and write about many of the Henderson family members that lived in Laurens County, S.C., and relocated to other parts of America.
There may be something to this
information but we do not have it confirmed! The late Bob Henderson, author and
researcher, thought so. We have never confirmed it! He wrote a book entitled "Our House of Henderson" by Robert H. Henderson. You can find out more about this book and his Henderson lineage at: Henderson Books What happened to James B. Henderson's family that lived in Smith County, Troup, Texas? They were on the Smith County census for 1870 and disappeared after that. Did they go back to Alabama? Did they move somewhere else in Texas? Lula and Minnie were the two daughters. Who did they marry? Who were their children? I have three leads on Lula Henderson through marriage maybe: Lula Henderson married Kirke Perry, 3 Jul 1892 in Smith County, Texas. Lula Henderson married Monroe Harris, 21 Oct 1891 at Jax Texas (Houston area). Lula Henderson married Robert L. McDaniel on 13 Mar 1895 at Erath, Texas.
